What Are Pre-Cut Vector Templates?

Pre-cut vector templates are digitally engineered outlines of automotive body panels, created in true 1:1 scale for professional plotter cutting. These templates allow installers to work faster, eliminate the need for trimming on the vehicle, and achieve perfect alignment across every surface.

Whether used for PPF (Paint Protection Film), vinyl wraps, tint, or livery design, accurately designed templates ensure consistency, reduce material waste, and support both beginners and advanced installers.

Why Pre-Cut Templates Are Essential

Modern vehicles feature complex curves, sensors, parking cameras, radar modules, and multi-piece bumpers. Cutting film directly on the car increases risk and takes significantly longer. Pre-cut templates solve this by providing:

  • ✓ Accurate geometry based on OEM reference data
  • ✓ Clean curve paths for smooth plotter cutting
  • ✓ Faster installation workflow
  • ✓ Reduced risk of damaging paint
  • ✓ Improved symmetry and precision

True 1:1 Scale Engineering

All AutoVectors templates are designed in true scale. This means measurements, panel shapes, and alignment points match real vehicle dimensions when imported into CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, or plotter software.

Typical precision is approximately ±1 mm. In rare cases, depending on reference source or surface complexity, tolerances may reach 2–4 mm — this is normal in automotive digital templating and does not affect installation quality when film stretch is applied correctly.

Where Pre-Cut Templates Are Used

  • • Paint Protection Film (PPF) installation
  • • Vinyl wrap designs
  • • Motorsport liveries
  • • Partial wraps and accents
  • • Headlight & taillight tint
  • • Window tint templates

Templates can include individual panels such as bumpers, fenders, doors, mirrors, rocker panels, pillars, roofs, and more depending on the coverage level (Standard, Extended, Full Kit).

Compatible File Formats

AutoVectors provides multiple industry-standard formats for maximum compatibility. Every template includes the four primary formats used by most installers:

  • CDR — CorelDRAW (most common PPF format)
  • AI — Adobe Illustrator
  • PDF — universal, plotter-friendly vector format
  • SVG — lightweight scalable vector graphics

These four formats are included in every digital download by default.

If you need additional formats such as DXF, EPS, PLT or others, simply contact us — we will quickly provide them at no extra cost.

How Templates Improve Workflow

  • • No cutting on the car
  • • Repeatable precision for every vehicle
  • • Lower material waste
  • • Increased installation speed
  • • Cleaner edges and alignment
  • • Better customer results and professionalism

For workshops processing multiple vehicles per day, pre-cut templates significantly increase efficiency and consistency.
