Template Pricing Logic at AutoVectors

Reverse Engineering Technology & Template Pricing
Template pricing on AutoVectors is based on reverse engineering technology, vehicle production period and model exclusivity. Every product is assigned to one of four Pricing Tiers (TIER 1–4) — the tier badge is shown directly on the product image, and clicking it opens a short tier legend. This structure ensures transparent pricing while maintaining consistent, professional accuracy across all template kits.
A detailed explanation of kit differences (Standard, Extended, Max and Full Kit) is available here: File Types & Kits Explained . To see every pattern grouped by its tier, browse the full Pattern Tier List.
Modern reverse engineering (2020 onwards) & exclusive models
From 2020 onwards, AutoVectors fully upgraded its reverse engineering workflow. We now use advanced 3D scanning equipment and modern surface-processing software, including structured-light scanning and ExactFlat digital surface flattening.
This allows us to create true-scale 1:1 vector templates with improved fitment accuracy, cleaner edges and reduced installation error for real-world PPF and vinyl wrap applications.
The same applies to rare, exclusive, limited-production or collectible vehicles, even if produced before 2020. These models require additional engineering effort due to limited physical accessibility and increased data validation complexity — which places them in the higher tiers.
Current car template price bands. Collector-grade models reach up to $240. Within the same model, price also grows with kit coverage (Standard → Extended → Max → Full). Promotions and discounts never change a product's tier — the tier always follows the regular price.
Motorcycle templates — their own scale
Motorcycle templates use a separate pricing scale, built on the same philosophy: the newest and hardest-to-source models sit at the top.
Templates created before 2020
Templates created before 2020 were produced using earlier-generation reverse engineering methods. While accurate for their time, these workflows relied on older surface-capture technologies and provide a lower precision level compared to modern standards.
These templates remain fully usable for professional work and typically fall into TIER 1–TIER 2 (up to $99) — unless the model is rare or collectible, in which case it is placed in a higher tier regardless of age.
Summary
Template pricing ultimately reflects the precision of the reverse engineering technology used, the practical difficulty of accessing and engineering specific vehicle models, and the kit coverage you choose.
The tier badge on every product image makes this transparent at a glance — from everyday TIER 1 models to rare TIER 4 – Collector supercars and classics. This approach ensures consistent professional quality and reliable fitment across all AutoVectors templates, regardless of vehicle age. Explore the full Pattern Tier List to browse models by tier.
